Dental Crowns in Bengaluru — Metal, Ceramic & Zirconia
Dental crowns restore severely damaged, cracked, or root-canal-treated teeth to full function and natural appearance. Dentick offers metal, ceramic, PFM, and zirconia crowns at BTM Layout and JP Nagar.
Which Crown Material Is Right for You?
Each material has specific advantages — the right choice depends on the tooth location, your bite, and cosmetic goals.
Zirconia Crowns
The premium option — extremely strong, completely tooth-coloured, and highly biocompatible. Ideal for front teeth and patients with metal allergies. CAD/CAM milled for precision fit. Lasts 15–25 years with good care.
All-Ceramic Crowns
Beautiful aesthetics and good strength. Ideal for front teeth where appearance is the priority. Slightly less strong than zirconia but excellent for patients with light bite forces.
Metal Crowns
The most durable option — typically used for back molars where strength is paramount and aesthetics less critical. Very thin preparation required, so more natural tooth is preserved.
PFM Crowns
Porcelain fused to metal — a middle-ground combining the strength of metal with a tooth-coloured porcelain outer surface. Widely used and proven over decades. Can show a grey line at the gum margin over time.

Dental Crowns — Common Questions
Metal crowns can last 20–30 years. Zirconia and ceramic crowns typically last 15–25 years. The longevity depends on oral hygiene, bite forces, and whether you grind your teeth. We will advise on the best material for your specific situation.
The tooth preparation is done under local anaesthetic — you should feel no pain during the procedure. There may be mild sensitivity for a few days after. The laser is used to manage gum tissue during preparation, reducing post-operative soreness.
Typically two visits, spaced 1–2 weeks apart. The first visit involves tooth preparation, impressions, and fitting a temporary crown. The second visit is for fitting the permanent crown. We send impressions to a premium dental lab for fabrication.
Almost always, yes. A root-canal-treated tooth becomes brittle and is at high risk of fracture without a crown. Skipping the crown after RCT is the single most common reason root-canal-treated teeth eventually fail. The crown protects your investment.
Minor chips can sometimes be smoothed or patched, but a cracked or loose crown usually needs full replacement — the underlying cement seal has likely failed, and leaving it risks decay reaching the tooth underneath. See us promptly if a crown feels loose or different when you bite.
